About me
I majored in law in 1998, but started working at the HCLU while still attending university in 1997. In 2003, I won a scholarship to Columbia University in New York. Excluding that one year spent in New York, I have been continuously working for the HCLU. I worked as an apprentice lawyer at Andrea Pelle's legal office, as well as participated in the HCLU's Legal-aid Service. I was Director of the Drug Policy Program and since 2004, I have been Executive Director of the HCLU. I am a founding member of both the Hempseed and Harm Reduction associations and I am also a committee member of the Eurasian Harm Reduction Network, Public Interest Law Institute and the Common Sense for Drug Policy Foundation.
Why the HCLU?
....because I like my work to have meaning and I'd like to believe that social problems can be helped. I like to control authorities and government bodies and I like to help those less fortunate. What I like most about working at the HCLU is that I am surrounded by cool people who love their jobs - or at least that's what they tell me.
