The HIV/AIDS program deals with the legal aspects of this issue, the Hungarian and EU strategies and the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS. We continually monitor HIV patiens’ treatment and care and HIV testing practices in Hungary and regularly publish reports and studies on the subject. The HCLU’S HIV/AIDS program and its supervisor are members of a number of HIV/AIDS related international organizations.

People Living with HIV Discriminated by the Health Care System

People living with HIV and AIDS often face refusal during their non-HIV-related health care, and are directed to the out-patient HIV-unit of Szent László Hospital, the only hospital in Hungary to provide ARV-treatment and care for PLWHIV.
