WHAT HAPPENS TO THE DATA YOU PROVIDE?

Below, you can read about how HCLU works with its partner payment service providers to ensure the security of its supporters’ data and money.

WHAT SHOULD YOU PAY ATTENTION TO?

  • Read the HCLU Donation page description and the terms and conditions of donation!
  • Review the security terms and conditions of the HCLU Donation page, as these guarantee the security of your data!
  • Keep a record of your donation details!
  • Keep a record of your payment transaction details! (transaction ID, authorization number)
  • Ensure that your confidential card details are never accessible to unauthorized persons.

ABOUT SECURITY

SSL is the abbreviation for Secure Sockets Layer, an accepted encryption method. All three banks/payment interfaces have an encryption key that protects the communication channel. Currently, 90% of global e-commerce uses this encryption method. The browser used by the buyer encrypts the cardholder’s data using SSL before sending it, so that it reaches the bank in encrypted form and cannot be interpreted by unauthorized persons. The bank only processes the card data necessary for the payment transaction on the SSL-encrypted payment page. Only the bank has access to the data entered on the payment page; the bank does not forward this data to HCLU. After payment, HCLU’s Donation page will inform you of the result of the transaction. For card payments, your internet browser must support SSL encryption.

ACCEPTED CARDS

The Barion and PayPal online payment systems accept Mastercard/Maestro, VISA and VISA Electron (Electron only if authorised by the issuing bank) and American Express bank cards, as well as payments made with web cards suitable for online use.

INFORMATION FOR SINGLE DONATIONS

Payment (hereinafter: “Payment”) is a function provided by Barion or PayPal (Europe) for accepting bank cards, which means that payment is initiated using the bank card details provided by the Customer (donor) during the registration transaction.

  1. On the HCLU Donations page, enter your first name, last name, email address, and the amount you wish to donate, which you wish to pay by bank card. Filling in the phone number, city, address, and zip code fields is optional. We use this information for the purpose of contacting donors at a later date. By filling in these fields, you consent to our processing of this information.
  2. By accepting the general terms and conditions and clicking on the “Donate” button, you will be redirected to the Barion/PayPal secure payment page, where you will need to fill in your card details to initiate the payment. You can read the payment service providers’ information on data processing here.
    1. Barion,
    2. PayPal (Europe)
  3. After entering your card details, click on the “Pay” button to initiate the transaction.
  4. After payment, you will be redirected back to the HCLU donations page, where you will receive confirmation of the transaction.

In the case of payment, following a successful transaction – i.e. acceptance after verification of the validity of the bank card and sufficient funds – the bank will debit the cardholder’s account with the amount of the donation. The donated amount will be immediately blocked on your card account.

If you are not redirected from the payment page to the HCLU donation page, the transaction has failed. If you click on the “Back” or “Refresh” button on the bank’s payment page, or close the browser window before being redirected to the HCLU page, the payment will be considered unsuccessful.

If you would like more information about the outcome of the transaction, the reason for its failure, or its details, please contact your account-holding bank.
