My name is Haruko, and I am an American/Brit living in Budapest, Hungary since 2020. I’m an English language teacher at an international primary school, as well as a lover of food, film, and studying languages–especially Hungarian. I also wish to contribute more to the country and city that have become my new home.
On 8 September, I’ll be running the Wizz Air Budapest Half-Marathon (and my very first race!). I’ve been training over the past several months, and I’d love to put all this effort towards a good cause.

Can you help me reach my goal of 200,000 HUF
Hungary and Budapest have been very good to me since I moved here four years ago, and I'd love to give back by helping people protect their fundamental human rights and defend themselves within the legal system here. For this reason, I'll be running this half-marathon to raise funds for The Hungarian Civil Liberties Union (Társaság a Szabadságjogokért, or TASZ).
