The HCLU as a member of International Civil Liberties Organisations (INCLO) endorses the statement of the Canadian human rights NGO against the new Anti-Terror Act.

The legal provisions expansively create new powers, it means an exponential increase of mass information collection and flow, threatening privacy rights without any commensurate increase in legal safeguards.

The international coalition of human rights organisations took into consideration that the issue of mass surveillance requires global aswers, and therefore, draws attention to the fact that the new omnibus legislaton violates the UN International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
